Admission Eligibility

Enrollment Age: 2 and a half years old (will be 3 y/o by the end of March 2026) to 5 years old +

*Be able to understand and follow Japanese instructions (for English class, in English)
-
*Be able to do the basic activities around themselves, by themselves. (e.g., putting on and taking off their clothes, putting on and taking off their shoes, eating, going to the bathroom, etc.)

*Apple Youchien is a Christian faith-based preschool inspired by the Waldorf education curriculum. There is no requirement for the children and/or their families to be Christian. No matter what background the child and family may have, the requirement of enrollment is to understand and agree with Apple Youchien’s philosophy and educational principles.

Enrollment applications are accepted year-round based on space availability. To enroll, please submit the 💛‘Waitlist/Enrollment Application’ form found on our website.

※You will automatically be listed on the waitlist when submitting the 💛 ‘Waitlist/Enrollment Application’. （＊Please be sure to indicate the school year you wish to enroll your child on the form. The ‘Enrollment Application’ form can be found on our website. Please download, fill out, and submit the form.）

※ The ‘Enrollment Application’ form is to be listed on the waitlist. If there is no opening, we will not be able to meet your request for admission.

Have siblings who will be graduating or are currently enrolled at Apple Youchien, or will be changing schools (CV↔SD)

Children on the waitlist and meet the enrollment requirements (3 years old). (Based on waitlist order).
＜Enrollment Process from Waitlist＞

①An email will be sent out to qualifying families in mid to late February for enrollment after this year’s (2023 school year’s ) current student enrollment survey and registration has been completed.

（※The enrollment announcement email will only be sent out to qualifying families who will be able to enroll starting the new school year.）

②Families who receive this email will need to submit a 🌸‘Enrollment Registration Form’ to secure their child’s admission for the new school year.

＊Children who have completed the registration for the new school year will be able to participate in our summer program scheduled in July and August to familiarize themselves in their new environment.

★We are a Japanese preschool rooted in the spirit of Christian love. We are looking for teachers, intern students and volunteers who love children and are willing to walk together with them to become the best version of themselves.

●Applicants must enjoy spending time with children, and have a positive attitude towards their work.
●Applicants must understand and agree to our educational philosophy, policy, and the content of our childcare services, and are willing to work together with us to make our preschool a success.
(The following qualifications are also preferred:)

●12 semester units of ECE or Child Development
●Experience in childcare
